ETTP D&D PROJECT TEAM GETS POLLUTION PREVENTION AWARD
SEC Part of Award Winning Team
KNOXVILLE, TN Bechtel Jacobs Company's (BJC) East Tennessee Technology Park (ETTP) Decontamination and Decommissioning (D&D) Project Team, which includes BJC, PAS Asbestos Abatement Company, and Safety and Ecology Corporation (SEC) was awarded a Pollution Prevention and Waste Minimization Award from the BJC 2007 awards program.
The ETTP D&D Project team recycled a large quantity of material, which limited the amount of material disposed in a landfill. SEC Radcon Alliance performed radiological surveys on various items and material under the scope if its radcon subcontract.
“The SEC team performed flawlessly, with a dedicated crew working long hours under difficult conditions. SEC suffered zero accidents or first aid injuries,” said Phil Mann, SEC RADCON Program Manager. “A commemorative plaque and gift was given to the team.”
