ARSEC Environmental Receives MTOA Contract
LANL Awards Stimulus Work Valued Up to $100M
White Rock, New Mexico - August 20, 2009 - ARSEC Environmental, LLC, a SBA approved Joint Venture between American Radiation Services, Inc (dba ARS International) and Safety and Ecology Corporation (SEC), was recently awarded one of four Master Task Order Agreements (MTOA) by Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL).
"I am extremely proud of our team for winning this contract. I am confident in our team's ability, and feel the ARRA funding will have a positive impact on the state of New Mexico," said Danny Coleman, ARSEC/ARS CEO.
The task orders are partially funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and contain a maximum capacity of $100 million. The four awarded companies will bid competitively for a variety of Remedial Action (RA) / Decommissioning and Demolition (D&D) services at LANL Technical Area-21 (TA-21).
As stated in the Weapons Complex Monitor Special Bulletin emailed 8/14/09, "Out of the $212 million Los Alamos received in ARRA cleanup funds, approximately $79 million in ARRA funding will go toward addressing more than 20 buildings/structures at TA-21."
According to LANL spokesman Fred deSousa, "Overall, 11 companies submitted bids for the master task order agreements. Of the winners, these companies met our criteria better than the others and we believe they'll be the ones to provide the value the taxpayers expect."
"SEC is thrilled to support ARS on this critical contract for LANS as it provides an opportunity to demonstrate value in the ARRA mission," said ARSEC/SEC President, Mark J. Duff. "ARSEC stands ready to provide the strongest managers, technologies and resources to support this northern New Mexico initiative."
